New Lease Contract Registration Procedures in Qatar

As per the new lease contract registration law, the lessor must register the lease agreement at the Real Estate Lease Contracts Office — Doha Municipality within two months starting from the effective date of the lease contract. All the contracts currently in force must conform to the provisions of the Law within three months. The Real Estate Lease Contracts Office shall charge an annual registration fee of 0.5% of the annual rental value of the premises with a minimum fee of 250 QAR and a maximum fee of 2,500 QAR.

Lease Agreement Registration Requirements

1. Copies of valid landlord and tenant IDs.

2. Three sets of executed Lease Agreement (originals) signed by both parties.

3. Copy of electricity bill of the concerned property (if applicable).

4. In the case of legal person for either landlord or tenant (Company name mentioned in the executed lease agreement): copies of valid computer card, commercial registration and trade license.

5. ID copy of the authorized signatory notified in computer card as a signatory or to whom Power of Attorney is provided (in the case of company).

6. Copy of Power of attorney for delegation of authority for signing the lease agreement (if applicable).
