Qatar Most Expensive Rent Costs in GCC

Qatar is now the most expensive country to live in the GCC according to Cost of Living Reports Middle East (CLR) based in Dubai.

 

Qatar is in first place for the most expensive place to live in the GCC followed by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait. Overall, Qatar has the highest cost of living; this is mainly due to increasing rent prices in the country.

 

Average Rent Per Year for 2 Bedroom Apartment in 2013

 

Figures revealed the average cost to rent a two-bedroom apartment in Qatar at the end of 2013 was $42,930 a year, which is $15,540 more than the UAE and 15 times more expensive than Bahrain.

 

According to the analysis by Dubai-based CLR, it is luxurious developments like The Pearl Qatar and the limited supply and high demand that has caused this significant increase in Qatar’s rental prices.
